Wat u all upto? Any of u guys a bit sick of the same old things online?
Anyway i was browsin around today and i saw this place
http://www.whatagreatspottobe.info/dgji . Wat do u guys reckon of it?
I was wondering if anyone happened to have a copy of the "Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular" with Brian that took place late last year and aired either at the end of 2005 or the beginning of 2006. I recorded it, watched it once, and just put the DVD into the player to edit it. And the DVD player just ate the disk, so to speak. The entire recording was lost and I am really annyoed. I just hope the machine does not eat any more recordings.
If anyone happens to have a copy of this on tape or DVD, can you please E-mail me off the list?
check out this place guys, its great, my new homepage lol!

There is an owner for this list, but I don't know how active they/she is. The problem with a lot of groups on yahoo is that the owner(s) make them open, so anyone who applies to be in is automatically in. then the owner/moderators have to be paying attention to the group to know if anyone is causing trouble. Some owners, while retaining ownership of groups, don't use them any more so no one is watching. And the owner or a moderator appointed by them is the only one who can actually ban people from a list.
All the groups I own are moderated which means i have to approve members, though I don't approve all messages (because they're not moderated for that) unless i have a known troublemaker then i might moderate their messages until they learn to behave. Unless i already know someone is trouble I approve them, and look for them to behave after that. Some people have had piles of trouble, i haven't. I did start my own list related to one celebrity because a list I belonged to for them was virtually taken over by someone constantly promoting their dating site.
As far as Annette Martini herself, you're right; she probably doesn't even know what groups she sends her messages too. When she was after Tanith Belbin she probably just had herself, her husband or someone connected to them join a lot of FS related groups. Now they probably just send out mass mailings when they have something else to go on and on about.

There is probably no point in replying to her. She
probably doesn't even know who she has sent this to.
This is just a name on the list to spam her message
to. Is there an administrator for this list? You can
ban certain email addressses from lists, just like
blocking spam. but that would take an administrator.

I love South Park. Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the creators) are hilarious. The Brian Boitano bit was poking fun, yes, but not in my opinion in bad humour.
That Brian Boitano embraces this is just fantastic. A lot of people who would not know of the skater not only know him but think highly of him due to South Park. If you look at just the song lyrics themselves they immortalise Brian Boitano as the greatest hero of all time.
And yes, a lot of things are said tongue in cheek.
What Gail said "He could cry about it or he could take it all in stride and even use it to his advantage" is absolutely right. It also raises a person up in nearly everyone's esteem - like when a certain actress who shall remain nameless (Halle Berry) arrived at the Razzies to accept her award for worst actress. It takes a lot of class to take something like that and own it.
I hate the show 'South Park', for most of the reasons you describe. However, I don't have a problem with Brian taking it all in stride and laughing about it. I'm sure that Brian knows all about the show and so on. He could cry about it or he could take it all in stride and even use it to his advantage. I think he made the right choice.

Well, thanks for your help. I was looking for an email address. I guess there is no way to send a email message, but I just had a comment I wanted to get across-no need to write an actual letter.
It is in reference to these t-shirts and his marketing himself in relation to this South Park show. I realize that he may not mind joking around about himself, and also finds it great that he has attracted a younger audience that he didn't expect. But the source of it is really lousy. I don't know if he realizes that they used this cartoon of him to poke fun at him, that the show is filled with 8th grade toilet humor (literally, flatulence, crap and the like), that characters (little kids) in the show are regularly killed off, electricuted and burned and that the initial cartoon that set off the series "the spirit of christmas" is horribly disrespectful. It is certainly a nice gesture to create t-shirts and sell them for a charity, but trust me, this marketing in association with this show is well beneath him and very embarrassing. I am disturbed to find out that even his coach Linda Leaver is in on this. Please Brian stop. What does he need teenage fans for if all they think of him as being is some foppy cartoon character? Doesn't he want to win fans with his skating? He has gone through a long career being well know for his skating and that alone. He has managed to escape being notorious or a joke, in a country where figure skaters run a very fine line between athletic greats and mockery.
It is purely constructive criticism. I have been a fan of Brian and his 'skating' for many years, and still am. That is why I care.
If any of you folks are within earshot of either Brian or his coach, I would appreciate this message getting passed along.

Also, on a different subject.......Brian's blog from yesterday had a link to his website (
www.brianboitano.com) and a graphic of a shirt he is selling to raise money for Youth Skate. The website doesn't really have anything on it but there's a link to Café Press where you can view and purchase the shirts. I've never seen the shirts (or a link to buy them before). I wonder how long he's been selling those to support Youth Skate?
Thoroughly enjoying the Olympics! Just wondering if there was an email address through which I could send a message to Brian or to his coach/agent Linda Leaver. Is there a fan address or something?
I actually wrote a poem a bout Michelle for one of my classes at ASU. One week we had to write a poem based on a headline. I didn't want to deal with the Iraq war, or politics or any of that b.s. So wrote one based on 'Kwan Withdraws'. Integrity is a word that I didn't actually use in my poem, but it definitely fits Michelle.

I am just heartbroken for Michelle. But, gold medal or not, she'll always be one of the best-known ladies figure skaters of all time. Integrity is what I think of when I think of Michelle.

I’m pretty sure Brian is aware of the type of programming that South Park produces. It sounds like you feel pretty strongly about this issue, so I would recommend that you write a letter to him and send it to the fan club address. A handwritten letter carries a lot more weight than an email anyway.
Brian did an ensemble skating performance to the song that was very fun, clever and clean.....not in any way violent or aggressive like the South Park shows. I feel certain he’s aware that the cartoon and song are poking fun, but I doubt he feels it’s beneath him to use the song to raise money for Youth Skate. He’s said in interviews that he hasn’t ever met the South Park creators or producers and I’ve never heard him endorse or promote the show in any way. He has simply responded to the questions posed to him about the song.
In the blog, he said the reason he made the shirts is because so many people have asked for them over the years since the song came out. I assume that Brian saw an opportunity to help raise funds. Since there was a demand for the shirts, he provided them.

The website doesn’t really have anything on it but there’s a link to Café Press where you can view and purchase the shirts. I’ve never seen the shirts (or a link to buy them before). I wonder how long he’s been selling those to support Youth Skate?

Hello all,
Thoroughly enjoying the Olympics! Just wondering if there was an email address through which I could send a message to Brian or to his coach/agent Linda Leaver. Is there a fan address or something?
Any help is great.
Thanks,
Jennifer

It is certainly a nice gesture to create t-shirts and sell them for a charity, but
trust me, this marketing in association with this show is well beneath him and very embarrassing.
Thank you.
Jennifer
