bbtano,
i really don't mean any offense, but that's a strange answer: "I¹d
recommend ignoring her and if it gets bad enough that Brian wants to
do something about it, then let him handle it."
hopefully brian would never have to deal with something so ridiculous
himself (and thank *god* he probably doesn't really know this girl),
but i think it's fair for an honest fan to want to stop someone else
from spreading blatant lies about the man. my intention was either
to take her aside and use a basic bit of evidence to say "look, i've
taken time to research this through legitimate sources and i can
prove that even the most elementary things you claim to know about
this man are false, so cut it out" or else i was going to show the
people who have been convinced by her deception(s) that she is wrong
about even the most proveable details, and therefore certainly the
wilder things she says (and they are pretty ugly or i wouldn't be
bothered with this) can't be believed.
i think it's worse to let people flatly believe terrible things about
a person than to investigate a few relatively neutral facts to prove
an untruth. i wouldn't think his wife's first name would be a
closely guarded secret, but regardless, it isn't in the spirit of
disrespecting his privacy that i've asked for the information.
i can ignore her just fine, but it's the people who are buying her
stories that i am concerned about.
sorry if i offended anybody!
