Re: [Boitano] Re: Ice Wars

Oh I'm sure they've been practically begging.  He's the only skater who has done every Ice Wars, and despite being 43 years old, he's by far the most dependable.  He's had a few mistakes here and there, but still he's the most dependable skater and certainly one of the most popular.

On a side note, remember Brian's 'The Pirate' technical program?  Last week on I think it was Turner Classic Movies, they showed the Gene Kelly movie 'The Pirate', the movie it came from.

I think Brian's been saying that every year for the past 2 or 3 years. Maybe he wants to quit doing Ice Wars, but the producers keep begging him to do it again each year?

Kurt is 40??  When did that happen?  Wow, time flies.

I was annoyed that I hadn't read anywhere about Ice Wars taking place or airing on TV.  Someone told me about it that morning  I hadn't seen it listed on the skating schedules.
I haven't watched it yet, but was told Brian skated to "That's Life".  Is that a new program?  Also, didn't he announce at the time that last year was going to be his last Ice Wars?

I don't think Gene Kelly roller skates in 'The Pirate'. That's a movie from the heyday of movie musicals, I think maybe the 1950s. I'd have to check the...
