Re: [Boitano] Re: Gail's messages

I have no idea!  That seems so odd.  Especially now that you have a new computer!  Here it is again.....I’m going to cut and paste it.  I hope you can read it this time.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I will have a new e-mail address as of September 6, 2005.  When we moved from our old place over the July 4th weekend, we had some problems with the phone service, and consequently our phones were only turned on a little over two weeks ago.  Since I use dial up, that meant no Internet access for over two months.  Since then I've only been able to check my mail through Hotmail at the library, or at ASU since school started up again on August 22nd.  Even with most of my groups on no mail, I still have well over 1000 e-mails in my Hotmail inbox waiting to be waded through.

Since my MSN had to be deactivated and reactivated again, that means that my address had to change.  Because my MSN is paid through my phone bill, I couldn't use it even when the phones were turned on, because the extra services aren't active until September 6th.  So I signed up for a free trial of AOL (wheresmykoppy@... ) so that I can at least check mail through Hotmail at home until then.  I don't like AOL, never did, don't like it now either, so I will likely drop it almost immediately upon getting my MSN set up again.  The last time I tried to have both of them AOL insisted on trying to take over my computer ; it wanted to sign on when I tried to use MSN and tried to make itself my default e-mail client, etc.  I only kept it because my nephew liked it.  This time I likely won't keep it past the free trial, if I even keep until the end of the free trial.  Anyway, my new e-mail address will be anthrogail1@... , which is pretty close to the  old one, but not exactly the same.  I'll be getting all my groups and such switched over as soon as I can.  I've got so little time, I am working full time and going to school full time...

It cost me $41 to fill up  my little thirteen gallon gas tank yesterday.  $3.19 a gallon, and that was for the lowest grade!

I know people in Florida, Alabama and Louisiana who may have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.  They say that this is the largest relief effort ever undertaken by the American Red Cross.  I'm glad to see that things are finally taking a turn for the better in New Orleans.  The lawlessness and all seems to be finally getting under control.  A few days ago they were saying New Orleans wasn't going to dodge the bullet like they usually do (they've really never taken a direct hit from a major hurricane), then they said they weren't going to get hit directly yet again, and the next morning I heard that 80% of the city was under water.  Well we Americans are pretty darn resilient, and Louisianans will bounce back as well as they possibly can.  Americans (and maybe a few others) have already donated an incredible amount of money in a very short period of time, and that doesn't include the corporate and celebrity donations, and things like the seven truckloads of food that Kellogg's sent down there...  Naturally the scam artists are at it, so the best thing to do if you are not sure is to donate directly to organizations like the American Red Cross (https://www.redcross.org ), the Salvation Army (http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/USNSAHome.htm ), or http://www.networkforgood.org .  Anyone with any doubt at all about legitimacy shouldn't donate unless they are sure.  We Americans have to help ourselves, we're used to it after all.  We're the best ones we can count on.

ttel,

Hello to you. I find it quite strange that you can't read any of Gail's messages specifically. It seems that you have AOL, as I can see from your email...

That's a good suggestion, but it doesn't seem to matter. I get all sorts of mail, spam, links, pictures, and I can see all that just fine. Next time, I will...
