In 'Ice Princess' Brian plays himself as a commentator, as does Michelle Kwan. I don't know how much time he has as a commentator on screen either. I don't know if I'll see it or not, it depends on how interested my ten year old niece is in seeing it. (She and her friends were my excuse for seeing 'The Pacifier' though I actually *wanted* to see it because of Vin Diesel, LOL!) Otherwise I'll wait until she either wants the video or it shows up on the Disney Channel, which it will do eventually. Brian did mention a couple of times that he might be interested in playing some parts where he doesn't play himself, but I don't know how hard he's tried to pursue that. I think that he thought about it a bit after Calgary, but the closest he came to really pursuing it was 'Carmen On Ice' which was gorgeous, but still skating.
I actually caught Brian's special this time! I would have missed it because I had forgotten about it again had my dad not been flipping channels and mentioned to me that 'Brian's show was coming on'. I thought that it had already started to I basically thought I was on track for missing every freakin' thing he does this season, but I discovered that it hadn't started yet, and I even caught the very beginning with him singing! Yay!
The ' Hernando's Hideaway' program with the cigar was from a couple of seasons ago, but he only did it a couple of times, so it was good to see it again. And, it did fit right in with the theme of the show, didn't it?
This show reminded me, though, that the last time I saw Brian Boitano in person was his holiday show in 1999. I'd love to see him again, but with my finances right now... I just rely on what people I know who go tell me plus the edited versions that we see on TV!

Hi, Michelle. Welcome back. Was there fighting? The
group has been very quiet since I joined last year.
The movie "Ice Princess" is supposedly geared towards
teenaged girls. I'm not sure how much screen time
Boitano gets, but if he's playing a commentator, he
would probably only be on screen during the
competition scenes.
He got a lot more screen time in his own special that
came on after Worlds on ESPN this past Thursday night.
That was definitely worth it, and it didn't cost $7.50
(movies are $10.00 where I live). He sang - decently -
and smoked a cigar, too. It will re-air on ESPN on
March 27th (check the time).
Enjoy!
