It's more black for me than for all of you I have to say only because both of
my teams were
knocked out. Again, the big thing in the postseason I believe is pitching and
the Yankees didn't
have that (didn't really have it all year, just great hitting but when your
hitting dries up...).
Anyway, enough about the hated ones. Now to the Dodgers... Nothing seemed to
work this series.
The pitching wasn't that great, Lowe didn't go well, Kuo did OK and Maddux
didn't do well.
Hendrickson came in tonight and pitched well in his inning of work. Saito did a
good job but
there was no save opportunity. The hitting was off, Furcal, Lofton & Drew
struggled. Kent had a
good night as did Loney. Nomar was hurt but tried to make the most of his
chances. Betemit had a
nice homerun but it was a little too late. I just think this Met team just
overpowered the
Dodgers in every category and of course having ex Dodgers on their team that I
know are still
pissed at LA for showing them the door, had a lot of extra incentive to "Beat
LA" and they came up
big when they needed to and helped their new team win. Again, this season was
still a success.
The Dodgers were out by 2 games and were still able to go into San Francisco and
win big when they
needed to but couldn't pull off any miracles in the postseason. Here's hoping
they have a repeat
performance next season and can get farther in the postseason.
