What a nice win for the Dodgers. Another have to win game too as the Padres
have continued
their torrid playing in the month of September. The Dodgers remain 2 games out
but with the
Phillies loss, the Dodgers are ahead of them by one game for the wildcard.
Garciaparra continues
to play better even injured and came out of the game after his homerun to rest
and with that, it
gives James Loney a chance to play. With such a big lead, a lot of the starters
got to come out
for a little rest (even though they had yesterday off). Martin for one needed a
break and Hall
came in and got a hit (he is doing rather well in the little time he has played
for the Dodgers).
Marlon Anderson has continued his great hitting too, with another homerun (he
has tied his career
high in a season with 11) and with Ethier struggling, I believe Marlon deserves
to be starting
right now. Kenny Lofton got another triple, not too bad for a guy pushing 40
years old. Tomko
pitched two scoreless innings which was good for him and Stultz got some work in
too. Greg Maddux
with the win is now at .500 for the season. I would love to see him end up with
15 wins this
season.
