Vice President of Communications, Derrick Hall is now the third front
office guy to resign from his position due to the new owners. A lot of players
are
upset about it and even Sandy Koufax chimed in saying that he was saddened as
well as Vin Scully and Fernando Valenzuela who stated that it was Hall who
brought him back into the Dodger fold last season. Obviously there is a lot of
strife as I am sure that with the new owners is coming a taste of frugality as
they don't really have any money to spend. I could be wrong for the reason
though. Also, basically McCourt has backed off his big speech about the
Dodgers number one desire is getting another big bat as it supposedly isn't
going to
happen. There is talk about Jay Gibbons of the Orioles though. Also Eric
Karros has now said that he thought he would be going back to the Dodgers this
season as he had a nice talk in the off season with Jim Tracy as well as Dan
Evans. After three months of basically a "run around" he had to find a job and
went to Oakland because it was the closest to his home in Manhattan Beach.
Karros also stated that he thought it was a "tall order" to have Shawn Green
having to move to a new position after his coming off of surgery and trying to
get into playing shape. Interesting....

Another note, I saw most of the game today. I couldn't believe how thin
Dreifort looks! I never remember him looking so emaciated! His uniform was so
loose on him and you could see the veins protruding from both of his arms. I
hope he is OK. He needs to put on a little weight I think.
