Please consider only the business aspect of this question; not as a fan, but
as an owner. (You care little who plays where as long as the bottom line is
profit, and more of it.)

BTW, after Piazza was traded due to his salary demands, it seemed to me, if
I recall correctly, that someone, possibly Sheffield was signed for more
money than Mike required. This would have been before Brown was signed.
Maybe someone with a tad better memory than I can recall this. My gut tells
me this occurred because I remember thinking the team ownership were
assholes for doing this.
