Hello ski friends. It's getting close to that time again, time to
start thinking about ski trips! Many of you don't know me, so I will
introduce myself. My name is Edward Turner, trip leader for Winter
Carnival '03, in Lake Tahoe, CA. I am the former president of Black
Diamond Dusters ("BDD") and I have a lot of experience running ski
trips. To make a long story short, I hope that you will join BDD in
Lake Tahoe, the week of MLK's birthday '03. If you've never been to
Lake Tahoe, now is the time, I personally think its beauty and
night-time-activity make it a better choice than Summit '03. I am not
trying to bash Summit, but I will tell you this: Most of us are
located in S. CA, BDD is one of 22 clubs in the Western Region of the
National Brother Hood of Skiers ("NBS"). Winter Carnival is a
sanctioned event by the Western Region, Summit is not. Summit is a
Nat'l event. So, if you're deciding between the two, I hope you will
take that into consideration. Also, most of the Western Regions
operating budget comes from Winter Carnival, so it's very important to
support any Western Region event.

In the next couple of weeks I will have more information about Winter
Carnival '03; however, in the meantime, I hope you will decide to join
BDD for Winter Carnival '03.
