Description

This group was created to help develop a network/forum for Black (African, African American, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-European, etc) Capoeiristas to have a means of connecting and sharing ideas that will help to build and strengthen their respective Capoeira communities
around the World. This group should be used to discuss events in the Capoeira world; to contact other capoeiristas; share ideas and suggestions to help build unity among capoeiristas and Capoeira communities; to socialize; promote events/exchanges; as well as to serve as a means of support.

Being that its common that Capoeira schools tend to have a small
number Black Capoeiristas (sometimes even only 1 or 2), at times it makes it hard to attract or keep new students of color or to feel like the work you’re doing within Capoeira is giving back to your respective community.

This forum is a means of expressing concerns, sharing ideas and
developing strategies to attract and build a stronger Black presence
within/across existing Capoeira communities/schools/organizations.

This group was developed out of the apparent desire to enrich the Black
Capoeira community in a POSITIVE way and to strengthen connections
across schools, organizations and communities. In other words, feel
free to contribute however you chose, just do it in a positive and
respectful manner. Note: This group is a work in progress.
