Re: [Bikerpelli] First Timers - Nebraska Roadies

Mark, from my experience, the number 1 problem is not pacing yourself for the long distances each day.  It is very easy to get caught up in the rush each day as some riders like to go out fast, and others should not. This is no different than a road century ride  where riders will be burned by the 50 mile point.  Second would be proper hydration and food.  Alex will have pointers on this and I find him to be spot on. I have committed these error's and drug myself into camp tired and cramped. Good luck !  Frank G.J.

Subject: [Bikerpelli] First Timers - Nebraska Roadies

I know the website said this ride isn't for beginners, and beginner
cyclists were not. But a few of us flatlander roadies are coming out
to try some off-road mountain biking so we're like beginners. I don't
think endurance will be a problem and we can walk our bikes
over the real technical parts if need be. My question is for you
veterans -- in past rides what mistakes have you seen first-timers make
the most?

- Mark
