The OPP (Ohio Pedal Posse) wishes all the best to the 2007 Bikerpelli
participants. After doing Bikerpelli 2 years in a row, we are drawn
too strongly to the vast amounts of riding the in surrounding area.
Its calling us to the wild. You folks that are local are truely
blessed! We plan on coming out to Fruita and Moab, and just hittin'
everything all you locals talk about, and we've got some great 70-90
mile days planned in the Crested Butte area as well. Thanks to all
of you for your extensive knowledge of the area. I know Ken has
talked to both Frank's already!
Speaking of Ken, he finished his 3rd Leadville 100 last year. He was
a shoe-in for the 9 hour mark (not to darn shabby for a guy just
turned 50), but the weather went really south, and the field as a
whole got bogged down in terrible cold rain. He missed the 9 hour
mark my mere minites. He still beat Chris Charmichael, and ended up
second in his age group! Well, we both have our applications in this
year. Yup Leadville 2007 here I come. It'll be my first. I don't
think my wife is willing for me to make a career out of Leadville, so
I'm assuming I've got one shot for that Gold Buckle, and we're gonna
let'r rip.
There were several people on the Bikerpelli trips that have done this
wonderful event, and they were paramount in the decision to undertake
this endeavor. Hey Phil, still wanna crew? Thanks for the lift!!
The OPP Bikerpelli Class of 2005 and 2006 wish you all a fun and safe
adventure. If you are new to the event, it is an adventure you will
never forget! And don't be afraid to use that big ring on 'middle
ring' climb...its just a mind freak. ;>)
