I lived in the Springs for 25 years and rode Palmer Park a few times. I rode kokopelli last year. If you can ride all the trails in Palmer Park, with the possible exception of the Rose Garden, you'll be fine concerning the technical aspects of Kokopelli. I would recommend conditioning and climbing over worrying about any technical challenges.
Looks like a good group so far - I'm glad you guys will be able to find humor as my kidneys exit my backside....
Can anybody suggest a good trail in the Springs that mimics some of the technical portions of the Kokopelli trail? I'm pretty confident in my physical abilities, but I'm curious how I'll do on the more technical portions. I usually ride the south side of Palmer Park. Once this crappy winter lets up (we're looking for freezing rain this weekend, which I guess is technically snow but worse), I want to get into the foothills and start getting my new GF Tassarjara dialed in.
