Clark,
I used just regular tires and had no problems. So did a lot of the other riders.
My friends and I ran the tires with high air presure with no problems.
I used Geax tires and one of my friends used Bontragers revolts and worked just fine. My other friend used tubeless and also had no problems. The bike store in Fruita can tell you which are the best tires. That's what I did. Put them on the night before, I don't recomend you do the same but it worked for me.

Has anybody done the Kokopelli with a GPS unit? Do you have the
waypoints that can be downloaded or keyed in to another unit? Will the
map offered by Bikerpelli have UTM coordinates on it?
Also, Stan's tubeless system seems to have about a 50-50
survival/success rate, if you believe the comments on BikeReviews . If
you have to carry an extra tube and pump anyway, is there a compelling
reason to convert? Assuming I convert, any recommendations as to the
best tire to use for the Kokopelli?
Thanks
Clark
