Just a short note to say hi and offer any trail tidbits to new riders of the
Kokopelli Trail. I've done the trail several times now and a veteran with
Alex's Bikerpelli group. Alex and staff are a world-class operation. You are
in for an unforgettable adventure. If you're like me, you'll quickly become
addicted.
This discussion group is a great place to ask questions, share thoughts,
over advice, and banter back and forth about middle-chain ring climbs. The
one key tidbit I can offer everyone is start training for the ride now.
Whatever you can do to get out and exercise (like riding your bike) will
make the trip so much more enjoyable. Even if you just get out and walk,
run, lift some weights, go to spinning classes (I highly recommend these),
you'll find it will make a huge difference in your riding. Alex sends us a
very helpful and detailed training guide with the welcome material as well.
There are few instances in a year (or maybe in a lifetime) where we spend
8-10 hours for three consecutive days on a bike seat. Build your plan now to
get acclimated riding several hours in the saddle. Believe me, it is worth
every drop of sweat.
Looking forward to meeting you on the trail.
Hey Juan and Frank Breck -- glad to have you guys back on the trail! Can't
wait to ride with you guys again.
Frank
