rear pannier racks   Message List

Got a standard rear rack that I want to adapt to mount on my CT. My CT
has two threaded mounting holes near the rear wheel hub. The lower ones
are being used for the rear fender supports. The upper ones can be used
for the rack. I am pretty sure I can come up with a strong arrangement
there. To mount the forward portion of the rack to the bike is going
to be a little more troublesome. Would it be best to just get an
auxiliary mount that easystreetrecumbents.com sells or is there some
other good method that does not involve mounting to the seat? My ideas
so far involve driling into the frame (won't do it) or else some other
eloborate fabrications (like coming off the brake mounts with a custom
aluminum support bar). I've seen some set ups that frankly look pretty
funky. Maybe I'm trying to be too clever, but I haven't seen anything
yet that looks well thought out. Any pics from someone who has done a
clean job whould be greatly appreciated. If I end up doing a good job,
I'll send them along for the next noobie!

Thanks - Denny

Once I bolted on to the drop-outs it was obvious that the mounts sold by easystreet are the way to go. The front mounting holes on the rack will line up...
