Hey, it's great to see some BikeE postings on this group once again
instead of just the spam. A few months back I looked into seeing if
we could get a new owner/moderator since the current one is AWOL and
being unmoderated, the spammers decended on it like a swarm of
mosquitos. Yahoo was unhelpful however, and just sent one or two
form letters.
ODCard did a good job in finding those spacers. $9.95 for four is a
heck of a lot better than that auction, going for $18+ with 2 days to
go. But that's the way eBay is. Sometimes you can get a steal,
sometimes a shopper who doesn't do his research can pay too much.
Since it appears there are still some BikeE owners reading the
messages from this group, I'm going to ask 2 questions here that I
was also planning to ask the BikeE mailing list.
1) What is the lowest price anyone here paid for their BikeE FX or
RX? I remember reading about one guy who built his own custom RX for
about $300-400 from frame, seat, and other parts he scavenged here
and there... but he was someone that had the skills to do that. I'm
wondering what is the lowest price anyone paid for one of these high-
end models either new or used. I understand they listed for around
$1600-1800.
2) To my knowledge, the RX was optimized for road biking, and the FX
for mountain biking / off roading. All FX's appear to have front &
rear suspension. Some RX's seemed to come with rear suspension only,
but some had dual suspension. The only difference I'm aware of is
the FX's came with tires for off-road, and the RX's had road tires.
So does anyone know what were the differences between the BikeE FX &
RX models?
