Replacing those gaskets is not trivial work, IMO. One is likely wasting
time and risking damage to the seals be doing the work oneself. I'm
sure we'll hear from list members who successfully fixed their shocks
(and bravo to them), but overall I'd suggest taking the shock to a local
shop with experience working on such stuff (typical on high end mountain
bikes).
I'd suspect that a local shop can do it cheaper than Cane Creek, who
likely regards themselves as the final option for the desperate, and
will charge accordingly. But if you don't have a local shop then CC
will do the job.
If anyone needs them, I have complete AD-5 shocks, though some might
need seal replacements. I also have seal kits. But I don't bother to
attempt the work myself. Even I take the shocks to someone who does
such work on a more regular basis.
