Hey all,
Just to keep things hopping on the BikeE group here, I thought i would
add a picture to the paradude2003 file with a short road trip report.
We recently visited one of our favorite spots, the beautiful city of
Santa Cruz.
As you can see in the picture we're hanging out on the pier, just
finished devouring a large bowl of clam chowder. You may know Santa
Cruz is a very bike friendly community with literally miles of bike
paths to explore. Our favorite extends from the pier up and around
along the cliffs to the lighthouse ( in the back of the picture ) and
then along more cliffs to a state park called Natural Bridges.
All in all its a short ride of about 3-4 miles one way but it usually
takes hours because we have to stop everywhere along the way to enjoy
the beautiful scenery. Surfers, sailboats, museums, dolphins,
migrating whales, yard sales, and lots of people out walking their
dogs all add up to allot of fun.
The whole area fits perfectly with the tandem. No one is in a hurry
and everyone is very friendly, and there's even a couple of BikeE's in
the town!
we would recommend it to anyone! Great place to spend a day or a week.
