The small plastic "seat sliders" would crack. These are easy to replace with a block that has a reinforcing ring. Which are still available from various places online ( www.bicycleman.com has them). Also Mike Libric http://www.easystreetrecumbents.com/
Broken seat sliders make the bike unridable so there no safety issue in that regard. The damage occurs when assembling or removing the seat, not while riding. I don't personally consider this to be a dangerous problem unless one is foolish enough to try and ride ride with a broken one which would not be easy.
I think when the supply of sliders is exhausted it will easy enough to get sliders made somewhere.
The tandems had a very not good problem with front forks. Don't buy an E2 with bad forks.

I have a line on several BikeEs. (Thanks for your help.)
I am concerned that they were recalled for several issues. Are these
problems significant and can they be easily fixed today now that the
bikes are no longer in production?
Thanks.
