I am a new Bike-E owner and member and this is my first post. Been
reading the archives to catch up, since I have had 2 CT's for less
than 2 weeks. On one CT I am going through both hubs to clean and
grease them, but I need a little help.
I have been looking for some info on the Disassembly of the 3spd rear
hub. I have taken the cassette off, but the plate with the bearing
remains on it. How does it come off? Then there is the axle inside the
hub, how does that thing come out? The axle slides side to side but it
will not slide out. I just don't want to force anything
and damage it.

On this older CT I have a Sachs labeled hub. But I could not find anything on the SRAM site for this Sachs hub. But it might be almost the same as another one...
I have heard that the 3 x 7 is the same as the last Sachs. On the SRAM website in the documents section (for dealers?) there was a .pdf for 3x7. I think...
If you have one that won't shift into low range anymore, is there a possibility of squirting a little oil or whatever would be the proper lube into the hub...
Anytime you have any sort of shifting problems after a period of inactivity you should look at you cabling before getting too involved with other stuff. When...
OK, after getting about 100 of these Hub repair Emails, here is the deal; Trash your old hub. I have one with about 6k on it and it works. What's it worth to...
Wow, I missed all those emails. Of course this discussion is the only activity on this list for a while so perhaps we should keep it up. Seriously, if we...
ooooPS . Just Kidding, Mr. Ross! Sorry my humor did not come through. No, fixing broken parts works. But also seriously, I do have the one with 6k on it &...
Thanks for the reply guys! I got it all apart and cleaned. The old grease had hardened over time and no use, making shifting hard. The cables are in good shape...
