Hi Gang, and welcome to our 26th year of Biking Around Long Island.
The 2006 schedule has been posted on our website
(http://hometown.aol.com/gjwbiker).
Now's the time to treat your bike to a Spring tune-up, so it's ready to go when you are. Make sure your tires and brakes are good, and that everything operates smoothly. I like to drop my bike at the local bike shop each Spring, just to let them give it a once-over.
Help us avoid delays on the morning of a ride by printing a release form from our website, and bringing it with you to your first ride.
If you're considering staying in Montauk in June, it isn't too early to make reservations. I've already made mine. Some rooms are booked a year in advance. The website has some helpful info.
The fun begins on April 1st (no, it's not a joke) with a ride from my house in Commack to Sunken Meadow and back. I don't know about you, but after this winter I need to get out and do some serious preparation for the 5-Boro Tour that's happening on May 7th.
We might have a new "away" trip in Lancaster, PA. Watch the website for details.
I look forward to spending another year "on the road again", with my friends. Let's hope that the only thing wet about our rides is an occasional beer afterwards.
See you soon.
George.
