Actually the MAJORITY of my experience with Lucas electric (POSITIVE earth? wow, what a concept! that is nearly as revolutionary as Witworth wrenches!!!) has been ....well......positive. Only my old BSA single cylinder motorcycle, which was admittedly not a first class new machine (it was WELL used before I got it!) was REALLY a dreadful beast. the electrics were only a part of the horrendous package deal! Lemme put it this way. It was GREAT fun when it ran. But don't count on it to get you to work on a daily basis eh. that is when I learned to rely on a bicycle!

Gah! I did not think Lucas perpetrated their form of electronics
horror show on cyclists. I thought they just wreaked their horrible
vengeance on drivers of British cars.
Then again, maybe a bike light is so simple that even Lucas could not
screw it up.
