Having problems with message search?
I was kind-of joking, but I seem to get sticker shock increasingly often (like $140 for the Lake Stevens 70.3) and there is a point where consumer resistance seems appropriate. IMCdA next year has gone up to $450.
I am aiming to put on the Birch Bay marathon next year at $10 per head, and reckon I can break even at that rate.

I hadn't thought of it that way, I was thinking there aren't many mid week triathlons around here and saw it and thought I'd let everyone know about it.
I don't know what the distances will be, as the website calendar had it at 1/2 mile swim, 5 mile bike, 3 mile run...

Which raises the question: what is the best measure of value for money in tri ? You have to factor in the time and cost of travel to the race venue also, of course.

This is a man made lake up on top of Bow Hill, The water is very clean, just looks dirty due to all the clay that lines the lake to hold in the water.
