Hello to all. I am new to the triathalon and am hoping to do my
first 1/2 ironman in September at Grand Coulee. I do have a few
questoins that maybe you could help me with. First, is Grand Coulee
a good first 1/2 ironman or is there one you that you would
recommend? My next question is do you know where in town I can get a
VO2 test and Lactate Threshold test? I am trying to get to know my
body as best as I can and think that those would help. And my final
question is not about triathalons, but marathons. I am running the
Volcano marathon in July in Hawaii. The course has about a 1000 foot
elevation change and the way it goes is that about the first 13 miles
are down hill and then, of course what goes down must go up, so the
final 13 go up. Do you konw any good training runs that start at the
top of a hill and then run down? I am hoping to find a run that is
about 5-7 miles each way. If you have any ideas or comments I would
appreicate it.

Thank you,
Allen

Allen: For your down-up run, you might try running from the Galbraith parking lot on Samish right down to Lake Samish, round the lake, then back up. The hill...

Of course I am biased..but I think the Grand Columiban will be a good first 1/2. You'll get great support. Although the bike has some hills, the run is flat....
