Subject: Re: [BhamTri] Long TrailsIf you run from the park by the ferry dock to the big parking lot at the state park and back it is about 14 miles. You can add a few miles by running towards GP along the trails and on the road. I have ran this many times during my training for Marathons. Once I get off the Interurban trail to the state park I usually figure my miles by estimating what my training pace was on the interurban. If I want to do 20 miles and I have been running a 8 minute mile pace I just run 32 minutes after I get off the Interurban and turn around and return to the park. I also try to do different runs daily to keep the runs from getting monotonous. Good Luck with your Marathon training.Terry Sentinella----- Original Message -----Sent: Monday, May 17, 2004 8:54 PMSubject: [BhamTri] Long TrailsHi everyone,I am looking to do my longer runs (14, 16, 18, and 20-milers) on trails around the Bellingham area. If I had to, I could run the Interurban twice, the Lake Whatcom Trail (North Shore) three times, or Lake Padden 6-8 times (BORING!), but it would be nice to get some variety into my runs! Does anyone have some favorites that are approximately these distances? I am really trying to stay off the roads for these long guys. Any thoughts - advice - warnings you might have would certainly be appreciated. Thanks,SharonSharon Peachey Sheremeta, Sc.D., FACSM
