As an addendum to Bill van Houten's advisory on accidents in Fremont & east Ballard:
Riding east bound in the bike lane on 35th St (during closure of bike trail under Fremont Bridge), I was struck by two Taiwanese tourists in a rental car lost in Seattle rush-hour traffic coming down from seeing the Troll below the Aurora/99 bridge. They tried to go straight across 35th into the Adobe parking lot after looking both ways for CARS ONLY.
I flew across their hood in my yellow high-recognitiion jacket and got off with a broken hand and the loss of a junker upright bike.
