I'm reposting this ride because it didn't seem to distribute right yesterday.
Sorry if this dups to you.

Should be at beach in time for sunset.

Brewery / Hollywood School. I carry a cup of espresso to be consumed at this
stop with carbs. Makes the last 45 mins of this ride go a little stronger,
especially on cold nights.

Old Redmond Road to Grass Lawn Park is roughly 1 ½ mi long, with a climb ranging
from 4 to 7% grade. Part of the route is on the sidewalk, there rest in the
bike lane on wide 2 lane road. Traffic is usually very light at this hour.

> Facilities: All restrooms on both Trails should be open on outbound leg, but
some close at sundown or shortly thereafter, especially Log Mathews Beach, Log
Boom Park in Kenmore, and Greg Wimot Park in Woodinville. Once in a while the
GG bathrooms get locked by vandals. Awkward! There is H2O at all facilities,
but I usually carry my own carbonated / flavored Talking Rain.
>
> Terrain: The route is mostly flat with a few short hills and some extended
very shallow grades. There are two short (50 yards) / steep climbs, one leaving
Mathews Beach and one in Ballard. And then the big hill climb at the end of the
ride.

(55 tonight in Redmond), so you may want a light warm layer or two / wind shell.
I stick back packers hot packs in my gloves when it gets much below 55. It was
a little windy coming back down the Sammamish River Trail Tues night, so with
dropping temps and a little wind, the wind chill could be noticeable.
> 2. Possibility of a few brief showers (or not), depends on which forecast you
read. I carry a backup rain shell.
> 3. Gotta have lighting. I have 3 hrs high intensity lights. I usually plan
on only using 21/2 hrs and save some in can in case I have a flat or mech prob.
This means that I usually ride from Golden Gardens back to Metro Market / Ronald
McD house with only partial lights on and go to full power when I enter the
canyon. This mostly works because there is pretty good street lighting most of
this section. And there will still be a very full moon on Fri.
