Hi Jay ~
Lonnie Morse here in Portland.
The SS's are few and far between - - - especially this time of year. However, the EX's can easily be configured as a SS by replacing the front wheel from a 406 to a 451. Next would be ex-changing the large chain ring to a 52. Leave the two smaller ones on until she thinks she needs to change them. Most of the time even the SS's go to a 26 tooth small chain ring with 11X34 cassette here in the hilly NW.
The V-brake will be the only give-away that it is not a SS. I ride a EX frame set configured to a SS roadie/body sock set up. I ride this way full time only to convert it into a EX when heavy touring. This makes for a more diversified frame set to "do it all" if wanted. Here is a Iink when I used for heavy touring. http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=3Tzut&page_id=18740&v=QO

Good luck for your hunt. If you don't turn up anything - Coventry Cycle Works here in Portland can order a Gold Rush to your specs. EX or SS.

I'd like to find a used Gold Rush for my wife.
I'd prefer an SS, but an EX will probably work fine.
Let me know if you have one that you'd like to sell.
