Thanks, Mark. That's encouraging. Some people have informed me that LWB recumbents are more prone to skidding the front wheel. I know that from 10 years' riding and was taking it into account; just not enough.

I would need a total hip replacement if I am left with arthritis. I am in the risk group, but the surgeon, Dr. Chip Routt at Harborview, tells me he is satisfied that 3 plates and 8 screws he put in me will work well enough to avoid it, a "durable hip," he calls it. I sure want to avoid another surgery and the post-op habits that patient needs to adopt are very cumbersome.

See you on the trails and roads August 15. I misspelled my own name in my original post!
