announcement
Howdy troops,
The following is a copy of a little write up that I posted out on
BROL. So if you don't mind, the following is a bit of copy and paste
action, hopefully the fonts and text doesn't get too wrangled. If you
want to view the original, check out the BROL Specialty/ racing
threads. Great meeting last night by the way, it was as if everyone
was wearing a lampshade, if ya know what I mean. Ciao.
Tom
(yup, just pasted, it's much fancier in the original form!)

I've got an OHPV HPC '08 at PIR in PDX (call a doctor!)
Greetings racers and HPV enthusiasts!
It's our 9th annual Human Power Challenge and we have some new twists
and treats added to our event to make your bent brains get even more
dizzy! (insert your own joke here). For one, the track at PIR got a
face lift,,,,but first, a brief intro of our event.
Oregon Human Powered Vehicles is proud to be the host of this HPV
racing extravoganza on Memorial Weekend (May 24th - 26th) at Portland
International Raceway (PIR) in
venue of racing and social gathering of all things HPV is afforded to
us by virtue of the indy car race track site, where we hold our
multiple racing formats and HPV clan gatherings. To test your racing
mettle, we have formats of 1/8 mile drags, auto cross, time trials,
road racing and flying 200 meter speed trap. We utilize (mostly) the
HPRA categories for racing, with a special subcategory of "trike"
class in each event. Cash awards for "points" winners in main
categories, see the race site for details.
We have a fun Saturday night social event at TerraCycle with some
suds being brought in by our new sponsor, Full Sail Ale. They are
also helping us out this year with a generous cash donation
sponsorship as well. Thanks Full Sail!!
NEWS FLASH !!
PIR underwent a complete resurface this past fall, making the track
an even more sweet place to go fast on your steed! The entire track
is now super smooth with not even the slightest wrinkle on it,
ensuring your safety and ability to go as hard as you dare. NIIICE !!
We have further new info regarding the race and social events at our
race website of www.ohpv.org/
the race committee at PIRhumanpower@
Registration will be open starting March 10th, where you can register
online or by mail, or register the day of the race, check the site
for details.
See you in PDX ("
