 The Seahawks travel to Foxborough this week for the first time since 1993 and take on the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. Game Preview
The Seahawks have started the 2004 season 2-0 on the road, and to go 3-0 the team will have to end the Patriots’ NFL-record 19-game winning streak, a streak that includes the NFL’s longest current home-game winning streak of 11 regular-season games, 13 including playoffs.
This Sunday's game at New England could be viewed as a measuring stick as to whether the Seahawks now belong among the NFL's elite teams. And there's no test like playing the defending Super Bowl Champions to find out.
"Anytime you play a team that has done it, like New England, it's a good measuring stick for your team," says Mike Holmgren. "I would say this, and it makes for good copy and interesting discussions and stuff, but it is a long season. Wait until the end. You've really got to wait to the end, who's in the playoffs and who makes it, because strange stuff happens every Sunday. Upsets. Stuff happens." Player & Coach Interviews
Holmgren led his 1996 Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl XXXI victory over the Patriots.
The Seahawks are 7-6 in the all-time series against the Patriots. Although Seattle and New England have not matched up since 1993, the Seahawks have won the last five games played between 1988 and 1993, including four in a row on the road.
