Hi Mike, here is the letter i wrote to tell them why Week 2 is dedicated ti my gradfather. Feel free to edit it if you want to.
Hello everyone
As you already know that week two has been dedicated to my grandfather who has recently passed away on September 1st 2006. In honor of him, i would be glad to take the time and tell you about my fondest memories of him and who he was. My grandfather, Robert Scott Jr was born in Belfast Ireland on May 25th 1926 and came to the United States when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Ludlow High School in MA and served in the National Guard as captain in Company G of the 109th Infantry Regiment durring WWII. He then married my grandmother Betty Lou Simmons on June 5th 1954 where she bore my Uncle Dave and my mother Elizabeth.
Before my grandfather's passing, we use to do everything together such as going on Road Trips, Vacations, Umass Football games, watching Pro Football on tv or just a ride to the store. I use to stay at his house every weekend to help him out weather its yard work, cleaning up the house or trash duty. Anything that he needed help with, I was glad to be there and lend a helping hand. During christmas every year since my grandmother has passed away, my family and I would stay the night along with our dog Shelly.
I could also remember the times when we went to Cape Cod MA every August for a week with my grandfather and family. My Mom and Sister would go clamming for Quahogs at Salt Pond while we wait in the Beamer (BMW) lol. That water is merky and i dont like getting stuck in the mud, especialy when you cant see anything on the bottom of the pond lol. Those are the great memories that i have and there are more I wish i can share with you. But for now that is all i have to say and I want to thank you for letting me tell you a little about my grandfather and I know for sure that he is in heaven along with my grandmother and his family.
Sincerely Josh
