Thanks, Alex.  Welcome to the Baseball Necrology Work Group.

Here's a link to his death notice crudely translated to English.  The story first appeared on Saturday, April 2nd, but it's unclear to me what date he actually passed, as it states something about a funeral on Sunday March 30 (which doesn't jive at all)..  Hopefully we'll be able to get a better translation.

I think the "March 30" is referring to the street and number where the

Larry Shepard's pitching record from 1948 through 1951, is phenomenal,
even for D/C ball.

1948 29 Medford FARW D BRO 22 3 .880
1949 30 Billings PION C BRO 21 6 .778
1950 31 Billings PION C BRO 22 6 .786
1951 32 Billings PION C BRO 24 11 .686

Granted he was also managing then, but he had no real promotion despite
these remarkable figures.

We have a hot stove organization here in Central Connecticut called the World Series Club-www.worldseriesclub.com.  We have a speaker every month during the off season.  Our final meeting in April is a dinner for the New Britain team in the Eastern League.  For many years, the Boston Red Sox had their AA team here, the New Britain Red Sox.  At our dinner we put a player at each round table with seven members. Sam Nattile sat at our table.  He was very nice and was happy to talk to everyone.  It was an enjoyable evening.  Whenever he saw me at a New Britain game, he would always come over and talk.  He was a very good fielding first baseman.  I always wondered why he never made the Boston Red Sox.
