The animation itself is simple (I used a program called "Easy GIF Animator 4")
but selecting, re-sizing and saving the individual film frames from the scan of
Uyenishi's book via Photoshop takes a while.
Still, I find it fascinating that we're able to see an actual Bartitsu Club
instructor demonstrating techniques in real time, or close to it, via this
re-animation process. This must surely be some of, if not literally the earliest
moving image footage of Japanese martial arts.
