This is a big question you all have raised. I would agree with Tony's assertion that all
Bartitsu begins with BW's original moves. However, I also agree that a good deal of
savate and boxing techniques would be thrown in on top of the original moves. I believe
that BW's original moves contained more hits and strikes than the articles show, as
some moves would have seemed out of character with the Queensbury rules, and
hence he would not wish to showcase them. Most of the early foot usage in early photos
of jiu-jitsu were sweeps, but we know they kicked as often as savateurs. Or am I off
base...comments?
