I understand malacca sticks are hollow, and require some sort of internal support. Umbrellas use a metal or wood support. What would you suggest for a Vigny cane, that should be flexible?

I'm not sure that malacca is hollow, since it's a rattan, not a bamboo. There should be a strong internal structure, so it wouldn't need a specific metal rod...
