There has been some usage of the word 'koryu' (old school or old tradition) in

various e-mails. I've been guilty of using it myself. According to Dave Lowry,

in his articles at Koryubooks.com, the word would apply only to pre-Meiji, or

pre-1868 Japanese arts. Therefore, Victorian arts such as Judo, Karate, etc.

don't fully apply. It's just words, but I'd like to everyone to be correct in their

terms. My degree is in English, after all!   :) Will
