The Tufo tire that Chris has, fits the same size tubular rim that I
have. The rim the Tufo tubular fits has a diameter of about 17-3/32"
and is called a 20" wheel by some and an 18" wheel by others, but they
are the same. The 20"(406) Hed wheel has a diameter of about
16-17/32". Even though the 20"(406) HED rim is smaller in diameter
than the tubular rim that fits the Tufo tire, after the tires are
mounted on both wheels the Hed wheel becomes the wheel with the larger
overall diameter due to the much larger tire....those 20" Tufo tubular
tires are really tiny...about the diameter of my pinky finger, and
they weigh only 84 grams. In the case of the prototype tire that Chris
has, Tufo apparently didn`t realize that their 20" tubular tire is a
different diameter that either the 20"(406) clincher or the 20"(451)
clincher.

Don, I'm a little confused - is there a tufo tubular clincher that will fit on the front wheel of a 406 wheel. Thanks. Doug ... <jacobsdoug2000@y...> ... ...

Doug, As far as I know there isn`t one, but you can always change the front wheel and use a tubular rim with a regular tubular tire. The small sized Tufo...
