I am still using the original pad that came with my Baron.
It's a 2" open cell foam.
I find it comfortable except that it is hot during the summer & traps
moisture.
I have used my Baron for Brevets & supported touring where I did not
have to carry most of my gear, but I'm not sure that I would choose it
for unsupported touring.
