It's just SO...MUCH....MONEY :) That's likely my biggest hesitation.

The X-low is a bit faster indeed, and as Dave says: you can easily touch the ground with your hands when standing still. Both versions are easily to handle....

I am not sure about the newer version, but older X-lows have no mounts for idlers to route the chain over the wheel. They intended it as a race bike, so down...

One other thing to consider is if a crack is an actual frame or paint crack, mine for instance is the version that is reinforced on the bottom (2002 frame?)...
