Only 2.5 miles for me this week. I had a 50k trail race on Saturday so all my running was in trail shoes or VFFs. The only barefoot run was a recovery run this morning. It can only go up from here :)

So, how did the trail race go? Thanks for checking in Jon. Every BF mile is worth counting!

Well, it went okay. Thanks for asking. It's called the Sweaty Butt 50k and lived up to the name :) It was about 32.5 miles of single track with plenty of roots and rocks and rolling hills. I tried doing a portion of it in VFFs a month ago and even in VFFs it was pretty painful. And my feet were still sore at the end of the race and I wore my typical New Balance trail shoes. I look forward to the day I can run an ultra in VFFs.

40 miles this week and--a correction--43.1 miles last week (I missed my 5 mile turnaround on Sunday of last week and ended up running a solo half marathon).
I have officially finished 3 years of running, having achieved 4107.6 barefoot miles in this time.
I had 21.5 miles this week; 10K of that was at the 40th AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4th! Wow! I've never ran with 55,000 people before. Quite an awesome event. I met up with a new barefoot running friend who gave up his subseeded position to run with me. I was quite honored. It was really exciting and fun to run with another barefooter!
Happy anniversary, Mike! I hope everyone had a great Independence Day!
Over 4K miles in three years! Congrats Doug! Huge accomplishment.
I will make the adjustments to your mileage.
Here's to another 3 years for you and to many others!

Sounds like a blast, shoes or not! I know what you mean about the Vibrams. I have never ran in them before but I have hiked in mine and they don't give a lot of protection. Congrats on finishing. I am guessing that you had a sweaty butt on completion.

How exciting TJ! I have always wanted to run the Peachtree. Glad you got to do it with another barefooter. We are certainly making ourselves known at some of the larger venues!
Thanks for the miles. Have a great week!

This was my last big weekend of training before my stretch of Summer
ultramarathons. I spent it at the beach and was able to put in some
big mileage days. The furthest I've managed to go barefoot on roads
is about 10.5 miles in one go, but on sand I could run 100 miles if I
had time. I didn't have that kind of time though :) but I ran 26 on
Friday, and 28.5 on Saturday (10 of the latter on asphalt). Adding to
the 14 I put in earlier in the week, and that's 68.5 total barefoot
miles for the week.
I'm just the kind of goal oriented person that I almost went out for
another 6.5 tonight just to round it up to "Diamond" status but it
just didn't happen :)
Since you always say that every BF mile is worth mentioning I'll also
report my 6.2 miles. We had a week of summer temps last week and it made
me quite lazy. Coming week temperature is dropping from almost 30 to
almost 20, so it might be easier to be more active.
have a nice week!
