rick - with 11 laps for 31.1 miles in the Green Lake Dizzy Daze 50K/100K in 7:12:15 in Seattle, it reminded me a little of your 55 or so laps in the 9/11/06 Patriots' 40 miler* and was a special first ultra for me being joined by Barefoot Chris from Bellingham in his fastest of six 50K'ers so far (~6:03 or so) and, for the last laps, with Barefoot Ted** who came to run with us in spite of his being under the Seattle weather after getting here on the heels of his February 100K and recent race in Mexico's Copper Canyon of nearly 50 miles.**

Hello all,

I felt pretty good this week even though my achilles tendons are always
sore. Lots of stretching every day and concentrating on good running
form. Oh, and no distractions this week like volleyball or other
jumping/sprinting. The warmer weather seems to help too. It's been in
the 60s and 70s all week. Perfect running weather.

While I was retracing my route back home this afternoon, I noticed one
of the boys playing with his brothers in their front yard had taken off
his shoes and socks and he said something quietly about going for a run
as he smiled at me. Next time, I'll have to invite him along for a few
yards down his street. Maybe I've found a convert!

Anyway, my miles this week are 21.6.
