The Bare Soul - February 24, 2008
When Endurance is Not Enough!
Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of
witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and
the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance
the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author
and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the
cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God.
Long distance running is not something to be taken lightly. There
should be a lot of preparation. Physically, there should (of course)
be the training miles, but then there must be the mental preparation
that gives a runner confidence to complete the distance.

Your prayers are much appreciated. Maybe this is God's way of giving me a break to rest a bit from all of my daily busy work and reflect on some spiritual time during recovery.
Thanks again,
Bob

Rick,
Actually count me out for awhile. I have had pain in the lower abdomen for the last 2 months and just got diagnosed with a hernia. I get operated on this Friday and will need a few weeks of recovery before running again.
I'll get back to you guys when the running resumes...maybe the snow will be gone by then.
Take care,
Bob
