Barefoot Rick and his entourage' (family that is) arrived in Kona,
Hawaii today after a very enjoyable 5 days on Oahu. We are staying
about a half mile from the host hotel where the Kona Marathon will be
run on Sunday.

I went out and ran 5 miles of the course along Ali'i Drive. That part
of the course is a nice asphalt, a barefoot-friendly rating of a 7 on
the one to ten barefoot-friendly course rating (10 being the best).

Off to the volcanoes tomorrow and more beaches (snorkeling and boogey-
boarding) the next couple of days until the marathon.
