17.77 weekly barefoot miles for me.
My left calf is still very tight ever since I injured it a couple
weeks ago. Even though I have been able to increase my total barefoot
mileage, my TOTAL running mileage has been way down. I ran 6 shod
miles this morning which is the longest run (shod or unshod) that I
have ran for the last couple of weeks.
The only reason that I am still running shod is that I have a
marathon coming up in two weeks. Since my longest barefoot run to
date has been 4.45 miles, there is no way that I can see myself
attempting to run this one barefoot. I just hope that I can recover
enough from this calf injury to finish the Carlsbad Marathon on the
20th.
I had been planning to run another marathon this coming June but I
think that I will now just go completely barefoot (running) after
Carlsbad.
Current barefoot plan (God willing):
2008 - a couple 10Ks
2009 - a few half marathons
2010 - barefoot marathon or two
