I am new to barefoot running but very excited about it. I started
on the treadmill and ran a couple of times but found I got blisters I
think from meeting the moving track under my feet. Then I moved on to
running on the dirt road I live on. I did a couple of two milers with
a few spots to walk because of really rough terrain. I also ran two
miles last week on a asphalt road. Felt pretty good.. My calves were
sore after the asphalt but I had some good hills on it.today I ran two
on the dirt and one on the asphalt. I did some walking because I
didn't want to increase too fast. I have had back problems and my
husband had noticed I landed hard when I ran with shoes so I am hoping
this will help fix things.so far it has felt great!! I guess I am
wondering how fast you increase, and should I wait longer in between
if the calves are still sore? I have always loved being barefoot
however I notice that I have worn shoes long enough to need to toughen
up my feet to this. Does the climate get better in time. My first mile
is very cold on the feet then it isn't so bad.
thanks for any adivce out there.
