“Glen Burnie Improvement Association Centennial Committee is proud to
present the GBIA 5K and Fun Walk on Sunday October 12th @ 8:00.
GBIA, founded in 1908 to better the living conditions for their residents,
is celebrating its 100 birthday and sponsoring the 5K run/walk. The GBIA
sponsors several community events including: The Big Glen Burnie Carnival,
The Memorial Day Parade, Fireworks, 3rd Ave Park Ice cream Social, summer
concerts and more. You can be part of the centennial fun and join us for the
first annual GBIA 5K run and fun walk. For more information visit us on the

Fast, flat, chip timed, out and back course along the scenic Baltimore and
Annapolis trail. The 5K starts at the Glen Burnie carnival grounds then
proceeds south. The course crosses 5th Ave and Aquahart Rd with a turn
around at Norfolk Rd. One water stop ˝ way along the course. The one mile
fun walk starts at the carnival grounds and follows the same path and turns
around at 5th Ave. The fun walk is not chip timed. How to Participate:
1. Complete the attached registration form. Send it, along with your
registration fee to: Glen Burnie Improvement Association, Inc. 19 Crain
Highway South Glen Burnie, MD 21061 Make checks payable to GBIA Or Register
online at Active.com/GBIA 5K
2. Mail registration form and fee by Thursday October 2nd or register online
by Thursday October 9th. The first 150 pre-registrants will receive a race
day tee shirt.
3. The 5K race will start at 0800. Walk starts after
run starts.
4. Race awards will be given to male and female 1st and 2nd place finishers.
First place finishers, male and female in the following age groups. Under
14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and older.
