John D. Kelly was looking down at us today with a smile on his face.....great
turnout for the John D. Kelly Logan House 5k. Rowan College runner Nick Desantis
wins in 16:15 with Donna Palisca, 27 year old from Killeen, Texas the women's
winner in 18:56. Donna is here for a month with baby visiting her folks.
Overall masters winner Greg Cauller sets another r2r age group record with his
3rd place finish in 16:27. Women's master winner Theresa Kauffman 35th overall
in 21:25. With master of ceremonies, Mike and John Kelly had us all laughing
not only at the starting line making announcements but also as they presented
awards with some classic lines. A bagpiper led us to the start of the event and
continued to play as the runners turned for home. What a nice touch! 330
finishers. A nice fundraiser for National Parkinson Foundation. Many of the
runners wrote checks exceeding the $20 donation in honor of John D. I believe
some of the runners are still at the bar having a few more beers warming up for
St. Pat's Day....enjoy. Citizen's Bank Caesar Rodney Half marathon Sunday the
13th....the Granddaddy of Delaware Running....in its 42nd year. Hope you can
